Yesterday was a charming day after the wet, unpleasant weather of the past week, and consequently a large number of our citizens sought the enjoyment of open air exercise. The young base ballers were out in force. In the outskirts of the city there were, we might say, thousands enjoyed the national game. Every open space almost was the scene of a game. If St. Louis does not become the base ball centre of the Union, it won't be for lack of admirers of the game.
