I don't know what's more amazing - the fact that Cap Anson was starting the 45-year-old Cap Anson at catcher or that Anson was still pretty much a league average hitter at age 45. Say what you want about Cap Anson - and I know what there is to say - but that dude was a player. Put aside everything we know about the man and just look at his numbers. Take the name off his player page and look at all of that black ink. That dude could hit.
