This is the new blog at the new website and I'm excited about the whole thing. The problems that developed in the last couple of months at the old site may have forced me into moving over here sooner then I expected but, in the end, that's a positive thing.
I'm not sure what's going to happen with this space. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue blogging in the way that I did in the past but I am a creature of habit. I do know that this platform is different than the old Blogger platform and that, in itself, will change how I blog and when I post.
I do know that I plan to use this space to make announcements as other sections of the site come together. As you may have noticed, if you've taken a look around the site, there isn't a lot of content up as of yet. The structure of the site is there. You can see how I've outlined everything and where things will go. But a lot of my time is going to go into writing up content for the various subsections of the site. It's a lot of work and is going to take a lot of time.
And that's fine. This is a work in progress. I have a vision of where I want to go and what I want this site to be. In the end, the new TGOG will be one of the finest 19th century baseball sites online and I hope and believe that it will be the very best.
But, while I continue to post original research in this space, there will be a lot of stuff about the new site - what's happening, why it's happening, when it's happening and that kind of stuff. I'll use this space to keep you informed about new subsections that I've finished so that you can head over and take a look at it.
The comment section is open but untested. So give that a try and we'll see if it works. You can also contact me by email and, theoretically, by twitter. Try those little contact buttons in the top right corner and let's see if those work. I promise to keep an eye on my twitter feed and plan to be more active with the tweeting, using that as another platform to announce website news. But I'm really going to need your input about the blog and the site so that I know what's working and what's not. Let me know what you think of everything.
So here we are. I'm going live - ready or not. God help us all.
